Moles

What is it about?

WHAT ARE THEY?

Moles or also called nevi can be of different types depending on the shape, color or size and some can be benign, malignant or suspicious (dysplastic).
It is important to carry out a periodic annual check-up with the dermatologist to check them and, if you have a family history, do it more often. The check-up can also be done by the patient himself, taking into account that none of the parameters of the “ABCDE” algorithm (asymmetry, borders, color, diameter and evolution) should be altered.
It will depend on the examination with the dermatological professional if the mole needs to be studied. If the mole is benign, it can be removed with surgical or cosmetic procedures.

HOW IS IT TREATED?

The moles that are mainly raised are the easiest to remove without having to undergo surgery and those that are not raised will generally require a small surgery whether to send them for study or not.
