Veins, varicose veins and spider veins

What is it about?

Varicose veins are enlarged, twisted veins that commonly appear in the legs and can cause pain, swelling, and a feeling of heaviness. Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are smaller, thinner veins that look like red or blue webs near the surface of the skin. Both conditions are caused by problems in blood circulation and can be hereditary, related to pregnancy, obesity, a sedentary lifestyle or aging.
